on seeking therapy …

🙋🏻‍♀️ HANDS UP if watching a good sunset relieves some of the stress you’ve been feeling!?

Sometimes we brush off stress as a normal part of life. But in reality that stress might be affecting your life, and in that case classify as anxiety. And what’s wrong with calling it what it is? Amiright?

Wrong. So often we are AFRAID to label stress as anxiety because we don’t want to address the severity of its impact. We aren’t ready to open that box.

If that’s you, let this be an inspiration to seek therapy to open that box in a safe space and get to the root cause of what’s affecting you.

So often (or for about 7 years research suggests) we sweep our issues under the rug, saying “not today”. Then we start tripping over that mound under the rug, and can only take falling so many times before we have to clean out the mess! Disclaimer: the dust will fly, but what happens after, we clean it out and learn to organize ourselves and our thoughts, and leave room for growth, wellness and success.

My suggestion: watch a sunset and call a therapist to set up your first session, learn some new coping skills, and feel the weight lifted, or stop tripping over that annoying mound in the rug!
